I was asked to do the covers for the book releases of German top author Ferdinand von Schirach. The two books; "Skuld" (Guilt / Schuld) and "Brott" (Crime / Verbrechen) are collections of short crime stories and the first of Schirachs writing that has been translated into Swedish. Ferdinand von Schirach - one of Germany’s most prominent defense attorneys and nowdays also a celebrated writer - base his grim stories on real cases and criminals he has defended.
The illustration was built in Illustrator and to get the right Central European touch for the houses, I wandered the streets of Berlin, Hamburg and Frankfurt am Main for hours and hours. (Not by foot but in Google Maps with Street view turned on...)
The text was set in Neutraface. Albert Bonniers Förlag | 2011
